About Us

Welcome to Sorrento Duncraig Junior Cricket Club.

We're a vibrant and inclusive club with a rich history, dedicated to fostering a love for cricket in boys and girls aged 4 to 17.

Our journey began in 1987 as Duncraig Junior Cricket Club, and in 2009, we proudly became Sorrento Duncraig Junior Cricket Club, expanding our reach and community spirit.

Our Season and Activities

We offer a fantastic cricket experience for all skill levels. Our Blasters program, designed for 4 to 9-year-olds, is a Friday night highlight at Seacrest Park from November to March, packed with fun games and activities. For our Under 10 to Under 17 players, competitive games are played on Saturday or Sunday mornings during the season with home games at Seacrest, Marri, Robin, and Melene Parks.

The 2024/25 season was a testament to our thriving club, with:

  • 268 registered players, including 120 Blasters and 150 Juniors.

  • 16 junior teams, including two dedicated girls' teams (with plans for a third in 2025/26!).

  • A strong foundation for the future, highlighted by nine Stage 1 teams, including five Under 10 teams.

  • Our Girls Year 8/9 team, and one of our Boys Year 8 teams making it to the finals.

  •

Beyond the regular season training and games, we're committed to providing a well-rounded and engaging experience:

  • Regular coaching nights at Seacrest, generally on Fridays.

  • Exciting beach cricket and events, like our successful Blasters event at Hillarys Beach Club and the Stage 2/3 event at Sorrento Beach. We're looking to expand this fun activity to the entire club next year!

  • Continued collaboration with the WACA and Scorchers players through primary school incursions at local schools such as Sorrento, Duncraig, St Stephens, and Glengarry.

  • Social events for our coaches and managers, like our appreciation afternoon at the Hillarys Beach Club.

Our Community and Future

We're incredibly grateful for the support of our sponsors. Their contributions help us provide a quality experience for our players. If you're interested in sponsoring our club, we'd love to hear from you!

Looking ahead to the 2025/26 season, we anticipate even more growth and exciting developments:

  • We expect to field more junior teams thanks to our strong Blasters program.

  • We're dedicated to continued growth in girls' cricket, aiming for 4-5 Blaster teams and potentially three girls' teams next season.

  • Our commitment to child safety and inclusion within the club remains a top priority.

  • We'll continue to offer a variety of social activities for our players and parents, including interclub games, WACA days, beach cricket, BBQs, and social nights.

  • Coaching nights for all stages will continue to be a focus.

  • We're actively seeking new sponsors and grants to help secure funds for a new bowling machine.

None of this would be possible without the dedication of our amazing kids, supportive parents, and hardworking committee members. Thank you all for being a part of the Sorrento Duncraig Junior Cricket Club family!
